Fehrnstrom: Obama Will Turn Debates Into ‘90-Minute Attack Ad’

http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entry/fehrnstrom-obama-will-turn-debates-into-90-minute

Eric Fehrnstrom, a senior adviser in the Romney campaign, said on Fox News Thursday that President Obama will turn the presidential debates into a "90-minute attack ad." Fehrnstrom also lowered debate expectations, saying Obama has had more experience in debates than Romney.

for certain that Rmoney would win the first debate. Don't flame me, that's what she said. Reasons are Rmoney had 20 Thug debates during the primaries and has been preparing for this for seven years(over the two campaigns) and Obama has been blowing off "debate camp."

She was begging Obama to get to debate camp asap and put in the necessary effort.

The dude has been living this for nearly four years, and will have no trouble handling this. R$ has done nothing but contradict himself and trip up on the simplest of things for the past couple years. His debate sparring partners during the Republican nominating process were laughable.

But I don't think Romney has the level of intelligence or even a forceful enough personality to pull some kind of huge number changing win. Nonetheless, I think Faux and Repubs will declare him the winner and MSNBC and Dems will declare Obama the winner. I don't think the debates will matter much.

And the "expectations game" is so transparent that no one believes it any more. Why campaigns bother is beyond me.

It made me laugh and I thought "No Willard, you have done that all by yourself". Seriously, what a moron.

I think that R.Money will try to smack President Obama around using all of his *best* lines from the campaign so far (expect "apology tour" to show up somewhere for instance) but President Obama will try to stay on message and answer the questions with clear, concise, and FACTUAL answers to the questions.

10. Romney has had a ton of recent debating experience; Obama hasn't debated in years

But Romney was debating fellow clowns. I can understand why his ass is puckered with fear as he's never had to debate a real brain who thinks on his feet.

...the people have already spoken. Seriously, does it matter what Romney says or how "elegantly" he says it if people already know where he's coming from??? He's a multimillionaire who doesn't give a damn about poor people or the middle class and everyone knows it. What can he say that will somehow change that.

And regardless of what he says, he's not going to bring the last 10 years of his tax returns and share them with us.

14. This is showing, one again, how incompetent Rmoney's campaign is.

Everyone has this wrong, including his campaign.

It is like they are getting this from "campaigning for idiots."

Here is how I see it. The debates will be about Obama; he is in the catbird seat. All he has to do is look presidential, defend attacks, and elevate any residual doubts about him and he'll come out stronger. We know he can do this.

If he does this then Romney has two options: either people see his performance as "ok", or as "a rolling calamity."

If Rmoney does 1, he maintains the election where it is at, losing. If 2, then he goes down the toilet for good. They can play expectations all they want, but any hurdling of them won't make a dent in things, as long as Obama plays it cool.

What they need to do is RAISE expectations and have Stench clear them. But they won't, probably because he can't.

Setting it up in advance to be seen as lies. But regardless, I think the cognitive dissonsance is becoming unsustainable for some of them.
