2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI am just now watching BBC World News Tonight: Syria, Top Secret Emails.
Brothers and sisters, this is seen as a big deal internationally. It is possible she will wiggle out to it domestically, but relatively unbiased people see this as a BFD.

(975 posts)I checked 12-14 of the biggest media outlets and it was the top headline on 7-8 and second in the news feeder on the rest. It's getting a lot of attention everywhere.

(13,326 posts)This is not exactly a new story, it's just a slow drip. Hillary must be mad. But of course, she did make those mistakes, by her own admission.

(975 posts)A former top official in the most powerful country in the world has been accused of keeping top secret info on an unsecure server. If what I've read is true, some of it pertained to our drone strike program and spying (which they didn't specify what type). There's no way to know if that information was compromised but considering how it was kept that can't be ruled out. Especially if her staff had access to that server.
It's not that it wasn't classified when sent. The problem is she was keeping what would eventually be classified info on an unsecure server. She wasn't allowed to use a private server for State Dept work but she was doing exactly that. There's also the issue of the server company likely not having clearance to handle the info. That's a major issue. It's really no wonder it's as big as it is.

(39,451 posts)Trump was right. Bernie should never have said no one cares about those damn emails.
He can't go there. And oh man, he should.

(13,326 posts)He did not exactly say that they do not matter. I think long term, income inequality is the bigger issue than her emails. It would have been expedient to score some quick points, but Bernie knows what's more important.

No telling who read those secrets. Just no telling. No wonder 100 FBI agents are investigating!
