MoveOn Files Complaint with DOJ Over Romney Retroactive Retirement Claims

MoveOn Files Complaint with DOJ Over Romney Retroactive Retirement Claims

MoveOn.Org has submitted a complaint to the Department of Justice urging an investigation into Romney’s alleged violation of the False Statements Act. The pain in Romney’s “retroactive” retirement from Bain grows.

Move On points out that “substantial evidence contradicts Romney’s claim that he was not “active” in Bain Capital in “any” way after 1999.” They add, “Substantial evidence that Mitt Romney may have committed a felony by lying on his financial disclosure forms justifies a criminal investigation—that’s the conclusion of a legal analysis released today by MoveOn.org Political Action.”

Read letter to the DOJ and the full legal analysis:

Romney loses the election and is prosecuted for filing false federal disclosure forms. He ends up in jail.

That would be lovely. I can dream.

That's the only think that puts rich guys in jail.

Don't take my word for it. Ask Bernie Madoff.

Why must The People be the ones to file a complaint and not the DOJ investigating without outside pressure?

I am ignorant on how this works, all I've got is commonsense.....

it would not look good for the Obama administration to make the first step on something like this during election season.

The right-wing would be hollering that Obama was trying to put Romney in prison in order to win the election.

Romney's been lying and deceiving folks for a long time, his multiple residences when running for Gov. and what address he claimed on his tax returns all seem easy to prove. Was he that loved that no one pressed on for an investigation?

Glad someone/some organization is getting the ball rolling.
