Since when did Hillary become so "pragmatic"? When did she ever tell her Wall Street buds,

(that is before the sh*t hit the fan) to be pragmatic, to not sell investors shady deals promising the moon that they knew were risky. Where are the speeches she gave cautioning them to stay within prescribed limits?

And even then I don't recall her telling Wall Street to lower their expectations. The pragmatic thing to do would have been for her to them that they would need to accept tighter regulations.

in order to prepare us for an even more dismal, hopeless future.

Fortunately, we have the choice, over the next few months, of a different future.

Just like the changes of the past 30+ years were little things here, little things there, wondering why the mom&pop businesses were closing, main street disappearing, ubiquitous chain stores in every city, every state, mergers, acquisitions and buyouts, hearing talk of "multinational" businesses, more things made in China, lobbyists writing legislation, unions disappearing, private pensions disappearing, job market becoming tighter, McMansions sprouting up, people struggling under student loan debt, people working two, three jobs ... and finally you realize it's not the same world.

I don't like to think what would happen after TPP.

If one is TOO pragmatic, one can't really call herself a progressive... because the pragmatism cedes too much ground from the progressive goals, and sucks the wind from one's liberal sails.
