(114 posts)1. Bernie had a huge rally at Des Moines tonight about 1,700 people
Clinton had a rally at some high school gym, barely big enough for maybe 200 people.

CROWD: about 1,700 attended the Des Moines rally.
(More than 600 attended his Waterloo event
REACTION: Sanders enjoyed a boisterous and enthusiastic reception from both crowds, which often interrupted him with cheers and applause.
OTHER STOPS: Sanders also campaigned in Marshalltown and Ames on Sunday.
WHAT'S NEXT: Sanders has no campaign events planned for Monday, though he is slated to attend a caucus night party at 9 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Airport in Des Moines.

CROWD: An estimated 400-500 supporters standing in a corridor under a brass statue of Abraham Lincoln, a crowd that spilled up a staircase.
REACTION: Frequent applause and a woman dressed as Wonder Woman who tried to excite the crowd with chants before Clinton arrived.

(31,170 posts)9. The changed up from the usual small intimate rallies to a larger rah rah thing on the Clinton side
I suspect that Clinton will have a great night tonight. They were everywhere in Iowa with small groups who had the chance to talk with her after the speech. The one I watched on CSPAN earlier last week appeared to be very effective.
