It documented a *fed up* worker/citizen movement against the 1% there and highlighted a big election changing things there too.

It directly influenced what happened in Republic Windows in Chicago back in 2008, where workers occupied and took over the factory there in the same fashion!

Our founders were militant " aggressive, especially in the service of a cause". I think OWS was militant. It doesn't mean violent.
