2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhat O'Malley supporters in Iowa can do today.
At each precinct caucus in Iowa, if your group supporting O'Malley isn't large enough to form a viable group that makes up at least 15% of those in attendance, there's something you can do.
Convince people from the Clinton or Sanders groups to join your group to bring the numbers up enough to become viable. There are usually some people who will be willing to join a non-viable group if necessary to reach the viability number. By doing so, you assure yourselves of having at least one delegate to send to the county convention, which is the next step.
If you're bringing others to the caucus, discuss this in advance and come up with a plan for getting people to join your group if it is too small for viability.
The viability number will be announced by the person running the caucus after a count of attendees is done. There's a calculation that is made and the viability number will be clearly announced before groups form at the caucus. You'll have some time to convince members of other groups to join you. You need only meet the viability number to earn a county convention delegate.
Don't just let your group be non-viable. Get active and make it viable.

(1,464 posts)But, unless he does surprisingly well tonight, he won't have enough money for ads and that is killing him because he doesn't get the free media that either Hillary or Bernie get to raise name recognition.
I'd like him to stay in the race out of sheer stubbornness now that Debbie has agreed to let them debate more. If it wasn't for O'Malley pushing on this for months, I don't know if that would have ever happened.
