2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumMatthews just asked some Clinton advocate (Joel Benenson) a great question
"Trump's motto is 'Make America Great Again'. What is Hillary's motto?"
Mumble and stumble.
Bernie and Trump have been killing it on message. The lack of message is damaging to Hillary.
Matthews thinks she will win.

It's a real turn off.

(23,156 posts)who was quite savvy, said that Hillary's logo then, her name with a sort of American flag scroll underneath, didn't really mean much of anything, especially compared to Obama's.
While the logos aren't seen as important, it may well be they are much more influential, albeit at a more subconscious level, than anyone quite understands.
A big red arrow pointing to the right? I think it actually does signal her position to the right of most everything the Democratic party stands for. Bernie with the blue and red curvy lines below simply feels much friendlier. It's a serif font, Times New Roman, I think, which is generally considered very readable. The sharp lines of the H, and with the rather aggressive arrow, just don't warm the cockles of my heart, although that may be just me. And turning the arrow to point left would not be that much of an improvement.

(650 posts)How telling is it that a surrogate appearing on national TV can't immediately answer that question?
From a purely political standpoint, HRC's campaign has been a dumpster fire and this is at the heart of it. There is no purpose or theme. Most of the "strategy" revolves around advancing misleading smears against the opposition and pulling dirty political dirty tricks.
"Vote for me because it's my turn". There is no vision of a better future.
