How many times have pundits been wrong?

Quite a few. Here are a few examples, please list others:

A Catholic can't be elected president. (Wrong. Kennedy won, 1960)
A movie star can't be elected president. (Wrong. Reagan won, 1980)
A black man can't be elected president. (Wrong, Obama won, 2008)

All 3 of those candidates had one thing in common, an ability to reach the hearts of ordinary people. I'm no fan of Reagan, but he was nicknamed the "Great Communicator" for his folksy way of talking. People look for candidates who seem like straight shooters, and for candidates who offer a positive vision for the future. JFK certainly did that, inspiring the masses, and so did Obama promising hope and change.

So when they say a socialist Jew can't be elected president, don't believe it. Look at the size of the crowds Bernie is drawing, and the number of positive posts on social media. He's ignited enthusiasm with promises of REAL change, or at least a leader willing to fight for it.
