I'm guessing her flight will arrive there in New Hampshire and upon deboarding she'll call a press conference and declare victory there as well.

(1,464 posts)She is a sore loser.
Compare that to O'Malley who is still at his concession party shaking hands and hanging out with his staffers and supporters. He's a class act.

(45,251 posts)telling the truth about the name of the very famous and destructive husband of a public figure like Andrea Mitchell is.
Bernie bros is a fiction designed to convey that Bernie does not appeal to women, or that he's sexist or whatever. Bernie's supporters are not public figures, did not help destroy the economy and are not slanting the news. Mitchell is a public figure, really is married to Greenspan and has been spinning the truth for years.

(1,238 posts)I think she thought she was going to win by a fair amount and it looked like it when she was on camera.
My mom was leaning Hillary and against Bernie because she was scared of a "socialist." She said she didn't like Hillary's speech and she thought Bernie gave a great speech. My moms largely apolitical and has some conservative and liberal ideas... so she also said she liked what Rubio said as well.
Her one caveat was she got a little scared when Bernie said "political revolution" but she liked the ideas he talked about.

But I remember as a little kid being so awed that she could move like that!
She also loved a good fight so, yeah, I think she woulda been right at home at Democratic Underground!

(12,151 posts)The crazily unwarranted declaration of victory could be read as arrogance, or as a stunt, but I don't think that's what it was.
They BLEW IT. The team read their data wrong, and made a really bad call. Then someone saw MSNBC rolling their collective eyes and wondering what in the world they were thinking, realized they'd just ensured the big story would now be the premature claim of victory, and made a quick call to get out of Dodge immediately.
- Started out of the blue with no announcement, stepping all over Cruz' speech in the process, a severe breach of protocol.
- HRC gave a solid speech, but spoke awkwardly around the whole issue of who won. She bit off every word like she was chewing wood.
- The campaign apparently dropped elaborate plans for Bill and Chelsea to speak, and raced off without thanking the local team, another big breach of manners.
It reads like panic, not hubris.
Wow. These are not happy people.*
*Well, except for the kid with stickers on his face, who is clearly having a great time.

(10,130 posts)There are a number of messed up precincts so maybe they know the results could (or will) turn.
I don't really care how they jiggle the numbers. They threw every dirty trick and an extra $29 million at Bernie and they couldn't beat him losing a 55 pt margin in 8 months. So they really lost. They missed theirr chance to bury him before he got going and they know it.
For all this crap they have spewed about his electability, they couldn't beat him. So some folks are going to say to themselves, "wait a minute ... what is this guy all about .. Hilary couldn't beat him with all her advantages" and Bernie will get a bump while Hillary takes one.
On Feb 9th, they're likely going to get creamed in New Hampshire. So they've got 20 pretty tough media days ahead of them and they know it - which is pretty damaging to her campaign. Bernie has 20 pretty good media days ahead of him. For the first time, some media will pay attention and give him some coverage - that helps as a free advertisement.
I don't expect media miracles. Some will continue to bushwhack him. But he came through a very tough stretch without getting knocked off and with about $50 mil in the bank.
Not too shabby. Not much for the Clintons to smile about.

(13,390 posts)That must have been pretty painful for her. She didn't get the result she wanted and was embarrassed on top of it. Not only was there an ego blow because of the results, she clearly thought for a moment it hadn't happened and it appears she may have found out while she was speaking on national television.
Campaigns are extremely emotionally taxing and I'm sure she was probably near tears and wanted to avoid people and be alone. She recovered well during her speech and I do not begrudge her the time it takes to decompress and regroup. Everything changed and there is work to do to regroup.
It was a pretty rotten night for her. She deserves some slack here.
