Hillary's campaign wasn't expecting such a close race, so they're scrambling to bring in some new people, shift things around, and change her message.

It's too late for that.

Hillary may yet claim the nomination but it will cost her the General unless she crafts some novel new stratagem.

Bernie went from down 50pts to a tie, a tie that Hillary maintains a molecule thin lead in via a few lucky coin tosses.

Hillary got 274 more voters go for her. Under that measure she won.

She currently has 3 or 4 more state delegates, but that number will change when o'malley's 8 are allocated. So under that measure, she is "winning," winner to be determined.

As for pledged delegates in the primary, she has 1 more, again it will change. So she is winning there.

She did win.

But the most important metric, public perception, she lost big. Blew a 30+ point lead in two months. Blew the bank and Bernie is down only one pledged delegate, heading into his home turf, where his victory will be decisive. He is the story, she lost the game of politics.

You could read it all over their faces.

I realize it is anathema to a certain Clintonian style of politics to ever admit that maybe there's a problem, but, there's a problem.

And if she IS gonna be our nominee- I still give it pretty good odds- plopping around in a delusional stupor about "She's doing GREAT zomg, no problems here, her style, positions and messaging are exemplary!" is gonna set us all up for some real fuckin' problems this November.

In terms of final delegate count, yes, Hillary came out with 2 more than Sanders. But the importance of Iowa- reasonably intelligent people know this- is not the final delegate count so much as it is momentum and temperature-taking of the electorate. The final percentages were 49.9% to 49.6%. Yes, had this been a presidential election the person with a few more votes would get the office. But again, we all know that the real prize from Iowa is, again, perception of momentum and an indication of how the voters feel about the candidates.

In all those regards, Hillary performed well below expectations, and Sanders; who came into this from way behind and was practically unknown, demonstrated that he is not going away, not this week.

Anyone who watches the two speeches last night can see who has the momentum. It's obvious.

But go ahead, continue with the condescension, the deliberate obtuseness, the meaningless memes, the distractions, the denial, the entitlement, the perpetual belief that the "Dreary", "inauthentic", "phony", "uninspiring" campaign - words from an Op-Ed you guys called "spot on" - is actually connecting with the voters, all of it.... Team Clinton may think it's working, but it isn't.

For the millions who, due to the MSM blackout, barely knew who he was, Bernie has become visible.

Now a larger share of America can Feel the Bern.
