Contrary to what Clinton tried to assert at the debate

Harvard University’s Center for Ethics finds —

“Contributions do influence policy.”

The Single Most Important Difference Between Bernie and Hillary

In the 5th Democratic debate last night, Hillary Clinton once again positioned herself as the only candidate who will be able to “get things done” and isn’t “mak[ing] promises [she] can’t keep.”

This is simply dishonest, and here’s why—

No one, Clinton included, will ever be able to “get things done” and enact the change the American people so desperately need unless and until the elite’s grip on Congress is pried off.

Right now, neither Republican nor Democratic politicians are actually working for the people of this country, or even care what we think — they’re wholly concerned with and working for rich, corporate America.

"When once a republic is corrupted, there is no possibility of remedying any of the growing evils but by removing the corruption and restoring its lost principles; every other correction is either useless or a new evil."~~- Thomas Jefferson

Instead of every individual shareholder who has made the decision to become a part of the problem instead of fighting for a cure. I mean, most of them don't give a rats ass. We know that. Many of them are just fine with assisting in putting people like Rick Snyder in office.

But, there is that smaller group who proclaims to care deeply about our dwindling democracy but continues the charade. Like abolitionist slave owners they hold back those who truly desire liberty for all, not just for the invested and the connected.

A lot of people have killed and died, cold and alone on the front lines to defend democracy. With every dollar in the markets the sacrifices they made are buried deeper and deeper in the dustbin of history.

(paraphrasing)

She is now arguing that money doesn't influence politicians.

I am getting to the point where I would be embarrassed to have her as our nominee.
