Robert Reich has studied this issue and says that most of our government policies after the era of FDR do not align with the will and desire of the people. In other words, politicians never really do what we want them to do. It's time to put politicians in our government who will.

fallen mentally to such a low point that nearly half of our people would vote for morally
depraved politicians who would fight against health insurance for everyone, social security,
increasing minimum wage, etc., but would allow the upper 0.1% to get away with all their
greedy and criminal schemes to take more away from the middle and poor classes, and
make them still poorer.

Just Google "Psychopaths rule the world," and you will find hundreds of thousands of
articles on the topic. Our world has always been ruled by sick and greedy people, except
for brief periods. One of the last ones was begun by F.D. Roosevelt and his New Deal. This
enlightened period began roughly with WWII and lasted some 50 years before the old forces
of selfishness and greed began to make its come-back again. We have Richard Nixon and
especially Ronald Reagan to thank.

We badly need a leader to bring our nation out of the sick mess we are in. An extremely
difficult task lies ahead, but right now we have sincere and courageous people like Bernie
Sanders and Elizabeth Warren who are willing to attempt it.

Let's give them all the support they need.

and to the naysayers who point to McGovern or Mondale, I point to Obama (far to the Left of the GOP candidate), and remind them that history doesn't automatically repeat itself. 2016 isn't 1972 or 1984 or even 2000.

Time is running out for working class & poor Americans. Status quo HRC isn't about to bite the uber-wealthy that bankroll her & Bill & Chelsea's rockstar lifestyles. Sorry, but the rest of us shouldn't suffer so that they can prosper on a level that no person should.

But he is not being completely honest about how the problems would be resolved. I don't think it's because he's lying or omitting information on purpose, I think it's because he holds a very simplistic, idealistic view of how the world works.

He envisions a world where Americans of all stripes unite in a revolution which forces the Republicans to bend and pass single payer and double the minimum wage, among other things.

Putting aside the math issues pointed out by liberal economists, the main problem with Bernie's approach is that we are at least a decade away from that tipping point. The country is still almost evenly divided between liberals and conservatives.

We'd have to get most people to the center first. Then we would see an amazing fight between center left and far left, the difference being, a loss of one side wouldn't be devastating and erase decades of progress.
