I don't watch curb so I don't know if that's part of his character's persona. I heard a lot of David's character was in the first video so I didn't get those nuances--but I still thought it was funny.

Lots of the supporting characters from Curb were in the sketch, too. They yell at him a lot and he has bad luck and compounds his bad luck with himself being an ahole then something clever happens in the end that ties a few things together and you cringe and laugh more when you watch it.

Or maybe the part about the rich dad was funnier? By the way, my dad was a cook and my mom a postal worker, and yes, I'm voting for Hillary

As far as SNL goes, this is the current gold standard

The pressure to do so here is considerable: here is a case in point.

A little criticism never hurts (even against the untouchable that is BS).

Onward Bernie soldiers.

I had thought that it was going to be another awkward "grouchy Bernie" imitation (I had stopped about a 3rd in).

He did a good job--he's a frustrated actor, he's been in a couple of movies in his past (once as Rabbi Manny Schevitz).

Like the earlier Bern Your Enthusiasm skit, you have to like the Larry David brand of snarkomedy, I think.

certainly nothing that will hurt Bernie, that's for sure. He did well...and his voice is really getting fried on the campaign trail.
