Mitt Won

Lets stop denying it..Mitt won

You cant win a ball game playing mostly defense

Mitt was very aggressive in presenting his side; making lots of charges and deflecting the few and very weak attacks by the President.

Romney's tax plan is a load of crap, wishful thinking and fuzzy math, but you would never know that from the confidence he projected and the "facts" he presented. Obama should have hammered him but he didn't.

Psychologically, Romney was was looking straight at the President, exuding confidence and determination; Obama was looking down..like a whipped dog with no fight...his speech hesitant..just an occasional flash of confidence or willingness to fight..even his smile seemed like a pathetic attempt to charm the audience into liking him after he got beaten and hoping to win that way..

Romney's star went way up and he may well become president..'

Fuckin' sad..very sad and very disappointing..

I don't know it there will be a chance to correct this...

I know a lot of people will disagree and resent my saying this ..

Just keepin' it real..hope I am wrong

I don't, but that is ok. I don't think this debate is a game changer for Mitt. Maybe in the short term the race will tighten a bit. But, this debate left a lot of chinks in Mitt's armor, a lot of fodder for political ads against him, and he looked twitchy and constipated. Eventually when people mull things over they will understand Mitt still hasn't a clue or a plan and that is a lot more important than he managed to get a lot of major lies out there and he came as moderate Mitt when he has been kow towing to his tea party base for the last several months. The bottom line is Mitt betrayed his base and there is no telling how that is going to end up playing out.

Second, check some of the posts here. Also TPM and Salon.

Mitt won 52%-48%. He needed a 60% victory.

Obama's likeability went up to 69%.

Only DU and MSNBC expected Obama to knock out Romney.

Obama, as has been noted, is not a great debater.

There are two more presidential debates. As Radar said on M*A*S*H, wait for it.

7. Time for a good ad

No words necessary on the ad - just chronological with dates, clips of Romney's statements on his tax plan and the number of times he's flip flopped up to including the debate statement. Last line on ad, "Do you trust this man to be the President of the United States of America?" or "Do you trust Mitt Romney with your taxes?"

I'm more disappointed in the moderator who totally lost control of the entire debate.

10. Swing States?

It only matters if this somehow flips a swing state or five in Romney's favor.

Simply put, Romney put out enough lies for another month of campaign ads. He was confident in his lying though... but does that make him a winner?

If the media actually does their job, how could this be consider a win? Romney may win this debate in flash polls but lose it in the morning once the factcheckers put together the list of his 80% lies.

I expect Fox News will praise his every answer. MSNBC will spend an entire day debunking his every lie. And nothing much will change except 1% of the remaining 3% of undecideds will opt for the Liar.

And even told him calmly that "these issues are too important for you to continue rolling out such lies. You know that my administration cut billions from the administrative costs of Medicare and put that money right into better patient care, but you keep lying about it. Pretending we cut benefits, when we actually improved patient care!"

And even said that "You seem to be mocking me for investing in green energy and yet millions of our fellow citizens want our country to diversify our energy sources and citizens around the world are looking to us for leadership in combating climate change by becoming much more efficient in energy use."

And more.

But why Jim Lehrer couldn't recognize that Mitt was churning out meaningless platitudes and cut him off more often was really disappointing. They should have had audible time segment signals.

Ohioans are not going to forget that President Obama saved the auto industry.

Romney can kiss the Hispanic vote goodbye.

Wait until Biden gets ahold of Ryan's ass in the VP debates on a few issues.

I think most people turned the channel after 20 minutes because it was boring. Don't think this debate changed much. Except that mitt wants to keep big bird, elmo, & barney from my toddler
