Question - Based On Debate, Are You More Or Less Clear On Romney's Agenda?

Consider what you read and understood about Romney's positions as a candidate. Now, based on the debate, did it reinforce and clarify those positions or make them more obscure?

I was really pissed when he was railing on our POTUS saying that the economy and jobs have gotten worse in 4 years, bullshit!!!

I am not asking if you are for or against Romney. Rather, do you have a clearer idea of what he stands for or not?

However, I now have absolutely NO idea what Romney's agenda is going to be. He changed position on everything I've seen in ads (and I have had to watch a lot of ads!!!).

motor-mouth. meaning clarity suffers. Some people do that when they know they're on loose footing, talk fast and make the audience think you really know your stuff. To me, it became boring, a lot of words flying by, like a used car salesman trying to sell you a lemon of a car.

Basically if Romney had simply answered "You just have to trust me on this one, Jim" it would have been EXACTLY the same information content that we received.

Another odd thing is that nearly everybody agrees that Romney was lying out his ass, but the consensus is that he still won the debate. So weird.

...but still lose the election as I noted in a pre-debate thread below. At the end of the day, Romney's biggest problem has been trust. Remember, Romney moved RIGHT of Perry and Gingrich on immigration during the primary debates. Romney is a skilled debater, but in terms of trust and vision, people on the left and right distrust him.

My biggest concern was that Romney could explain and justify his positions. He didn't. He abandoned them. The 20% tax cut. Pre-existing conditions. Etc. So, yay for him that President Obama could not land a clean blow. But, in the end, Romney simply reinforced the perception that he has no core except doing and saying what is helpful for Mitt Romney.

He smiled at Obama while Obama was speaking. Obama looked down or smirked.

Mitt knew a ton of people would tune in who don't pay attention until now and won't fact check so all he had to do was say what they would want to hear even if it was a lie.

I say he won as a great actor tonight and it made me sad watching the debate and scared of the not paying attention people believing him….

...of Romney's pre-debate positions. I personally think that whether you are a right winger or on the left, you might agree that Romney won on "points," but are even less clear on what Romney stands for. He seemed to distance himself a huge 20% tax cut as well as saying that he wants to repeal Obamacare, but is for a ban on dropping people based on pre-existing conditions, which his camp had disavowed a week ago?

So, great in terms of avoiding getting hit, but setting an agenda and giving people a reason to vote for you?
