Of all the MSNBC gang, Reverend Sharpton had the best take, IMO

And maybe Rachel

But Matthews and Schultz were furious!!

Reverend Sharpton said words to the effect that, yeah, the guy put on a performance, but when you go through what he said, it'll come to light that he was LYING. I don't have the actual quote but it made a lot of sense to me. And I thought he remained sensible in his assessment.

4. I was very disappointed in the panel's performance, except for Rev Al.

I was somewhat disappointed with Rachel even, but not a whole lot, she finally gained her bearings and didn't rend her clothes and wail to the moon. But, the rest of them, I think they were overly harsh and in many cases just wrong. Mitt did not win the debate. He scored some points by appearing to be moderate. But, the only reason he appeared moderate is because he was lying. Like Rev Al, said he was LYING and he lied a lot. It will take some time for those lies to sink in, but I think eventually they will. I think Mitt gave the Obama campaign a lot of fodder for campaign ads. They can run side by side comparisons of what Mitt says on the campaign trail and what he said in the debate. It won't bode well for Romney if they do that.

and didn't. Huge missed opportunity to end this campaign tonight. Now they get more life.

The only possible problem is... those morons "don't put a lot of stock in fact-checking"
(Can't believe they said that)
That's like saying, "we don't believe in reality..."

And they don't. They have their own little bubble in which they live with a non-existent Obama and they just spin and spin and spin. I can't believe that all these months of Nitt getting hammered over EVERYTHING he did would be reversed by this paper-tiger performance.

The President deals more with nuance. The repukes don't know what nuance is.

And perhaps a lot has to do with their differences in upbringing: Obama worked hard, did very well, and became a very effective President.

Nitt had everything given to him from Day One, and it shows. He was actually acting like a CEO, with Obama and Lehrer (sorry to use surnames) as his toadies. What a NERVE that creep has!

I finally had to turn off the TV.

6. Sad that Obama did not feel compelled to say that Rmoney was lying

He is playing this game of multidimensional chess again. It is time to cut out the crap and get down to business. Finish this thing off once and for all!

16. I don't think (correct me if I'm wrong) that Obama has ever used the word "lie"

He will say something is "not true," but "lie" is a pretty insulting term (well-deserved, in Nitt's case)

The President is a gentleman and I don't think he's even capable of lowering himself to Nitt's subterranean level of sleaze.

It will all come out in the wash... Romney's statements will be proven to be lies and Obama remained calm, and above all, truthful. Schultz and Matthews were too over the top with their desire for President Obama to stoop to Romney's aggressive tactics. I do hope they can stop clutching their pearls long enough to get some sleep tonight because it WILL be OK.

to mull it over. I expect I'll feel differently as well-- less disappointed, I'm hoping.
