2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumBernie Sanders is No Revolutionary
From The Washington Post:
In New Hampshire last week, the Democratic presidential candidate put out an ad touting his endorsements that gave the false impression that two local newspapers the Nashua Telegraph and the Valley News had endorsed him. An early version of the ad overtly claimed the papers had endorsed him. They had done no such thing.
Sanders did the same in Iowa, running a nearly identical ad Hes been endorsed for real change, the narrator said that left the strong and wrong impression the Des Moines Register was among those endorsing him. The paper had endorsed Hillary Clinton.
Also in Iowa, Sanders sent out campaign mailers that included the logos of the League of Conservation Voters and AARP, according to Newsweek, even though AARP does not endorse and the League of Conservation Voters endorsed Clinton.
In Nevada, Sanders campaign staffers allegedly misrepresented themselves as Culinary Union members, wearing union pins, so they could gain access to employee dining rooms on the Las Vegas Strip and campaign for Sanders. After Nevada journalist Jon Ralston reported this, the union, which had made no endorsement, said it was offended by the multiple instances of falsifying.
One incident like these=a campaign mistake. All of the above? Deliberate falsification. Hillary would be crucified if her campaign did any of the above.

(10,786 posts)OMG! A couple of Sanders campaign workers made the mistake of using two LOGOS that the establishment had already purchased!
OMG! A couple of Sanders campaign workers tried to ORGANIZE some union members!
Is this the type of "vetting" that Clinton supporters always tell us we should be so worried about if Sanders wins the nomination?

(12,448 posts)someone else's logos to make it look like an organization is supporting you without permission. That's just basic and should require no explanation.
I have belonged to two unions. I have never seen outsiders coming into a workplace wearing union t-shirts to "organize" union members (who, actually belonging to the union, are already organized). If someone had seen such a thing, they would have been asked to leave.

Your feigned logo and button OUTRAGE is its own self-parody. I really do not have to comment.
Again, if these are the mud flecks the Clintons are reduced to flinging, Sanders and his whole campaign are obviously clean as a whistle.

And BS's campaign did screw up here.
LOL at it being low level people - you would not give Hillary quarter for that.

(10,786 posts)I understand that the exact same charge applies to the vast majority of other national political candidates, but that's what Sanders whole campaign is all about! So it's basically impossible for Sanders to let Clinton off the hook on that.

It's a name . . . like the Reagan Revolution. Instead of being egotistical - he's not calling it the Sanders Revolution. He is calling for a Political Revolution.
Very different things. Even someone as dense as Dana Milbank should understand that.

Hillary Clinton Is No Progressive
Democratic presidential frontrunner, however, is one of the nation's great flip-floppers
As a strong challenge from the left emerges in the form of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, who was once thought to be headed for a coronation in the Democratic presidential primary, has tried to recast herself as a progressive champion. However, in her mad dash to the left, Clinton cannot escape her history of supporting, as the First Lady and then as a senator, the decidedly centrist and corporate-friendly policies of her husband, President Bill Clinton.
The contrast in views espoused by First Lady/ Sen. Clinton, versus 2008, and to a greater extent, 2016 presidential candidate Clinton, could emerge as a major problem for her campaign. Although Clinton has been extremely close-lipped to the media thus far in her latest bid for the Democratic nomination, by attempting to portray herself in speeches as a progressive during a time in which the political winds of the millennial generation are blowing left, Clinton has unwittingly shown herself to be a consummate flip-flopper who takes the positions that are most likely to return her to the White House.
A runthrough on a litany of issues important to progressives reveals a candidate in Clinton who once held decidedly anti-progressive views on many of the important questions of the day.

I must have missed it when Bernie referred to himself as a revolutionary, do you have a link?
