2008 Clinton: 112,404
2008 Obama: 104,815
2016 Clinton: 94,777 (97.7% of precincts reporting)
2008 Edwards: 48,699
Sanders got almost as many votes as Obama and Edwards combined got in 2008. And Clinton lost almost 20,000 votes from her 2008 totals.

(17,064 posts)Clinton was in a 3-way race in 2008. In a 2-way race in 2016 she should have increased her votes (similar turnout both years). Yet she got 20K fewer. That's devaststating for Camp Weathervane. Former voters are leaving her.

(10,786 posts)In 2004, the Dems were coming off of 8 years of Bush, Obama had just come off a surprise Iowa victory, and the Republican field was not nearly as interesting to independents.
