2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI wonder if Romney will dare to use this argument in the general election?
He says its past time we elected an outsider as President -- as if we haven't done that in a long time.
George W. was an outsider and a one-term Governor, just like Romney. (Actually, he had 5 years so one more year of experience.)
So was Jimmy Carter, for that matter.
Those Rethugs sure have short memories. Do they really want us to bring up the obvious comparisons to W.?

(24,437 posts)Republicans generally don't believe that government can do anything good----but, strangely, still want to run (control) it and a lot of people don't seem to have noticed the discrepancy.........yet.
It seems that public office- keeping our local, state, and federal government operating like it's supposed to- is the only job I know of where it's considered o.k. to NOT do your job for your employers (i.e. voters). We all know what would happen if the rest of us showed up to our jobs and refused to work..................

(34 posts)"I'm an outsider vote for me" meme. It's stupid. In no other profession do we strive to hire people who don't know anything about the business they want to run.

(53,061 posts)no he is running as an outsider.
But he is only an outsider because he couldn't beat Teddy Kennedy.
Which reinforces his whole problem on electability.
