Bernie Sanders Praised by Jewish Groups on Both Sides of the Aisle

U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders had little money and name recognition when he entered the 2016 race for the White House, but the son of a Polish immigrant made history in New Hampshire earlier this week, becoming the first Jewish candidate to win a presidential primary election.

Even though the self-described Democratic socialist has said in the past that he is culturally Jewish, but “not particularly religious,” members of the Jewish community -- both Democrats and Republicans -- have been taking notice.

“We congratulate Senator Sanders on his victory,” Greg Rosenbaum, chairman of the National Jewish Democratic Council, a political lobbying group, said.

Even the Republican Jewish Coalition, also a Washington, D.C.-based lobbying group, had positive things to say about Sanders’ decisive win in the Granite State.

The incumbent was Rudy Boschwitz, a reliable Reagan/Bush stooge, financed out the wazoo. His challenger was a voluble, smart, passionate college professor named Paul Wellstone, who was supposed to stand zero chance of beating him.

Late in the campaign, with the polls tightening every day, Boschwitz made a statement to the effect that he "was a better Jew than Wellstone." It blew up in his face like a loaded cigar, and it was one of the many reasons that the energetic professor and his beat-up green bus went to the US Senate.

Obvously HRH's people never heard about that.

Hillary making history....

but Hillary was not asked about getting in the way of Bernie making history.

Bernie did say he would make history inferring to his political positions, he could've mentioned this as well.
