2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSanders said he will create a Political Revolution by record turn out--that claim is at the Center
of his speeches--the center of his theory of a political revolution- -it is his claim for why he is electable--Maddow reporting just now
But she does on to say--it is NOT the reality so far.
Turnout of Democrats fell in both Iowa and NH not all that great for Dems. Better for Republicans.
But Nevada voter registration is up. up for both Dems and Republicans.

(35,015 posts)That is impressive. Hillary OTOH - she had low numbers. Hillary is the one with the enthusiasm problem, she wasn't able to GOTV on her own behalf.
The fact that registration is up in Nevada is great news for Bernie, no matter what Rachel "Hillary may I kiss your ring" Maddow says.

(11,588 posts)There is no way. It has been a pie-in-the-sky. But real, positive change is possible in increments.
When President Obama went into his first term after winning on a promise of "change" he had enormous political capital. People thought real change was going to happen. It didn't, at least not for a while and when it did it was only after long, bitter fights in Congress. We got gridlock.
A President Sanders would find the same thing. Half of this country watches and believes Fox News for Pete's sake. There is no way any of his promises will happen and the "capital" people are hoping to give Sanders, even if he were to win would not equal that of the newly elected President Obama.

.@holden is correct. @BernieSanders didn't bring "Political Revolution" to NH. #fitn

And voter suppression laws are a huge problem in way too many areas. We have to somehow overcome these hurdles.
