A critique of Reaganesque folks!
Try to face the fact that I ain't that young no more
Hair's short again and a suit is in,
Better brush up on how to tie a Windsor knot
Swing to the right
Credit's hard to find and a dollar doesn't go so far
What's more important when the count comes in
A sell-out who's alive or a corpse that can't be bought?
Don't want to hear what the povertous expect from me
Let 'em eat cake if they feel that way
I gotta work, why should I have to pay for that?
Swing to the right
And I don't want to be left holding the bag for them
Excuse me for living but I have to say,
I've got some worries of my own, like staying fat

(7,661 posts)there. BTW Hillards was a victim of a hostile takeover.
The company was founded by John Wesley Hillard in 1885 in the West Yorkshire town of Cleckheaton.[1] The first shop was opened in Lion Chambers there and shortly after 1900 there were 20 shops operating as Lion Stores.[1] By 1951 there were over 70 stores and by 1968 it had warehouse size stores in Wakefield, Lincoln and York.[1] In 1970 the trade name Lion Stores was dropped in favour of Hillards and in 1972 the Company was first listed on the London Stock Exchange.[1] Peter Hartley, a grandson of the founder, became Executive Chairman in 1983 and in May 1987, following a hostile bid, the business was acquired by Tesco for £220m.[2]

(11,910 posts)A difference in color makes it a fail? It's still shockingly similar. Also odd that a Dem candidate for prez's logs has a big red arrow pointing right.

(54,020 posts)She's not a reformer, but she is undoubtedly liberal. I'm sorry you can't see this clearly. Republicans don't hate her because she's an ex-Goldwater girl. They hate her because she's unfailingly competent at governing (albeit horrible at campaigning).

(1,890 posts)I just went to Ebay and bought the old Goldwater pin and the Hillary pin. I'll wear them together alongside my Bernie for President pin. I hope people ask me about them. lol If they don't, I'll point them out. lol What a great icebreaker to discuss politics.

REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
These right wing smears are getting more and more petty and ridiculous. This is the DEMOCRATIC underground, not Freeperville, attacking Dems for such silly things is contrary to the spirit of DU.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sat Feb 13, 2016, 03:21 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Given all the outright vitriol in GD.P, this is mild and rather tongue in cheek. Let it go.
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: I am a Bernie supporter but I agree with the alerter.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: I'm tired of reading right wing attacks on Hillary. Hide.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: They are kidding, right?
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Accusing fellow dems of rightwing attacks simply because you don't like them is even more contrary to the spirit of DU
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Nah

(31,935 posts)A giant RED arrow pointing to the (hard) right, obliterating the blue "H" behind it. The perfect symbol for the DLCs lurch to the hard Right, and complete abandoning of liberal progressive positions on the issues. They are the New Republicans, lead by Hillary and DWS. This primary is a battle for the soul of the party. Either we pull it back to it's roots to the left of center, or it dies.
