Bernie Sanders meets with Flint families, calls for resignation of Gov. Rick Snyder
YPSILANTI, MI — At the urging of a crowd at Eastern Michigan University on Monday, Sen. Bernie Sanders, D-Vermont, called for the resignation of Gov. Rick Snyder.
Sanders did so after talking about a meeting he held with a group of Flint residents on the water crisis there, sparking anti-Snyder chants from the crowd.
"I'll call for Snyder's resignation. That's fine," Sanders said.
The presidential candidate made a similar call last month, but said Monday that he hadn't previously grasped the gravity of the crisis until his meeting with Flint residents.
