Hillary Clinton calls for ‘facing up to the reality of systemic racism’

First presidential candidate to use the phrase intersectional in a major speech?

“We aren’t a single issue country. We face a complex set of economic, social and political challenges. They are intersectional,” she said, emphasizing that she would address “all” barriers, and not just economic ones. “These inequities are wrong, but they’re also immoral. It will be the mission of my presidency to bring them to an end.”

it is a big part of how I believe racial justice will be achieved in this nation. Our criminal justice system is detrimental to the lives of millions of minorities. It appears the justice system doesn't attempt to work unless it is a person of color, and then it works heavily against minorities and in favor of others. Much of the reason for suffering in African American, Latino, Asian, and LGBTQ communities is because of the disparities in the justice system. So while it isn't a catch all be all, I think it makes up a huge portion of what will be needed to reach a situation where we might begin to say the country is doing better as far as racial justice is concerned.
