Would HRC supporters say that head-to-head polls against the GOP were "meaningless"...

...if their candidate was LEADING in those polls?...

Seems to me that, in 2013 and 2014, HRC types were citing polls showing her beating Rethugs at the time as proof that she was "the only 'electable' Democrat".

Their main argument against those polls as I understand it is they don't reflect what Bernie's numbers will look like once Republicans start hitting him and driving his negatives through the roof, so apparently they thought they'd help out with that.

They all knew McGovern had the nomination locked up by early May, that there was no way Humphrey could still steal the nomination away, but they kept blasting McGovern anyway(even though he had done nothing at any point to weaken Humphrey's chances against Nixon).
