Obama Yard Sign Thefts

Anyone else having problems keeping an Obama 2012 sign in their yard? I've had two stolen so far in this past month. At $20 a pop I won't be replacing it again, besides, the shipping on them is so slow I doubt I would receive another before the election anyway. It is interesting to note that I have not seen any of the many Romney signs in the neighborhood disappear so far, so it appears this effort is limited to the Obama variety sign only.

and I wear my buttons daily.(Currently back to wearing the 2004 Obama button I got then)(yes 2004).
And a "VOTE DEMOCRAT" button.

I know someone who had their Obama car sticker ruined

I have not seen any Romney stuff here in NJ(and none in NYC)

and two weeks ago, I was in DC and saw one Romney bumper sticker and zero buttons/hats/shirts and hundreds of Obama buttons/hats/bumper stickers

caltrops. Large nails pounded through a piece of wood and scattered strategically around your sign. Prefereably dipped in a slow acting poison. Now I would never do such a thing but isn't it a tempting idea?

cut habanero peppers, ghost peppers, or Caribbean Red Pepper in half (preferable on a paper plate that you discard afterward) ... then rub the peppers generously all over the sign with the cut side. Be careful not to get it on your hand or anywhere else. Carefully wash knife and whatever else got in contact with the peppers several times with hot, soapy water.

My husband cut habanero peppers once and forgot to wash his hands before he went pee...he was in severe pain for a long time.

Prussian Blue paste does well too. Nothing pisses off a thief like being blue handed for the next 3 months.

You may have my sign, but you have to wear gloves like "V" from V for Vendetta. HAHA!

Some nut cut mine in half -- guess he wanted to have 1/2 of a sign - that's almost as good as the whole thing.

So I got a new sign that I have not put out yet - I'll wait to find some glue - should I put it under the sign at the top of the stick?

My OBAMA 2012 sign in inside my window - they would have to climb over a bush and tear off th little bars at the bottom of the window -- so far , so good.

If you get it on your skin, the only methods I know are either acetone or WD-40 to get it off. Neither one is good for your health. Alternatively, it will fade and disappear as the skin sheds over the next 3 or so months.

My next sign will be "FIRED UP, READY TO GO"
with the G in GO being the Obama symbol.

I finally got mine and put it down on the corner next to the Romney sign--our front yard doesn't work because it's not visible from the road. The sign didn't last the night. Locally, we have about a billion Romney signs--it's like they unloaded a semi full of the things here--and no Obama signs whatsoever. Part of the problem is that Obama signs are hard to get a hold of and they're expensive. The other part of the problem is that they're being ripped up as soon as they're put out.

16. Not signs, but bumper stickers...

I ordered a ton of different bumper stickers for this election. Multiple colors and different groups such as Veterans for Obama and Women for Obama. Figured it was a good way to donate to the campaign.

Last week when I came out of work I noticed my Obama sticker was torn half-way off my SUV window. However, no other stickers near it were touched such as my U.S. Army Veteran sticker or Wounded Warrior Project.

I replaced it. The other day, I added my wife's Women for Obama sticker to her car. We went out to go grocery shopping. Literally 15 minutes in the store and we came out and it was half way off and smushed up. A worker over at another store came over and told me it also happened on their car with an Obama sticker.

I'm glad I have a drawer full.

Maybe put an alarm system around it if people try to uproot it.
They're haters & they know Romney's gonna get his ass beat on Election Day.
They know Romney's lame but it's all they got.
So any Obama reference is just poison to them.

I would make 'em madder by making my own sign & saying "Obama 2012! Two Term President! Deal With It Suckas!"
But I'm a confrontational sort.
Do whatever you feel is best but put that sign back up there.
Don't let those haters discourage you.
John Lucas

P.S.: Maybe build a moat around it filled with piranhas?

This happened to us in '08 - we put vaseline all around the edges. When someone starts to grab it, they pull away immediately. Worked great and no more were stolen. BTW - they're only $5 here.
