Mitt Romney claims to disagree with President Obama on many aspects of foreign policy. Were still waiting to hear what those differences might be.
I wasnt surprised that Romneys highly touted Major Policy Speech on foreign affairs Monday offered few specifics. But even in its generalities, Romneys tour dhorizon sounded very much like a speech Obama might have given recounting his overseas initiatives over the past four years.
Romney pledged to put the leaders of Iran on notice that the United States and our friends and allies will prevent them from acquiring nuclear weapons capability. Obama has repeatedly said the same thing, most recently in his address to the U.N. General Assembly last month, when he said the United States will do what we must to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
Romney said he would work with Israel to increase our military assistance and coordination. Obama has done just that, according to Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak, who said in July that this administration, under President Obama, is doing in regard to our security more than anything that I can remember in the past.

afraid of him on the left and centre. "Trust me" will be his campaign theme from hereonin.

(4,551 posts)2. Isn't it time for the Obama campaign to go nuclear on Romney?
Why not expose his team as being full of Bush cronies and neo-cons and as Bush #3?
Does the average member of the public even know that something like 17 out of Romney's 24 advisers are Bush people?
Remind the public of what happened with Bush's foreign policy and how Obama's has been so much better.

as his own. oh yeah, then there's that whole thing about buying out companies and sending people to the unemployment line while helping himself to their pension money.
