Battered by the economy, Nevadans still favor Obama

LAS VEGAS | Tue Oct 9, 2012 1:19am EDT

In nationwide Reuters/Ipsos surveys, conducted over nine months, a startling 35 percent of households have suffered a major economic setback in the past four years. They have either lost a house to foreclosure or are in the middle of losing one. Or they have lost a job or taken a pay cut. Almost 96,000 adults were polled.

The disillusion among voters in this group is extreme: Only 21 percent think the national economy is going in the right direction, while 73 percent say it is on the wrong track.

Strikingly, many don't seem to blame the president. They divide about evenly on which candidate has the better plan for the economy: Forty percent pick Obama and 42 percent choose Romney.

Among Reuters/Ipsos' surveys of voters whose families have lost jobs, income or suffered foreclosures, Obama beats Romney among Hispanics by 78 percent to 19 percent and among African-Americans by 89 percent to 1 percent. Among whites, Romney retains a clear advantage of 52 percent to 36 percent.

Should the Obama campaign release a video clip of the interview Ann did where she says that?

The Social Media should make it VIRAL It was a Very Telling moment..it's not like we haven't seen plenty of incidents where We Get her Message Loud and Clear.

Nevadans want a serious President. Not one who will lie to them on a daily basis.

7. I think it's an overall assessment - I don't think it contains a poll

I guess for the latest polling average for NV, one would check out RCP or TPM.

Early voting numbers coming in from Nevada reported yesterday show the Democrats doing well, and combined with the voting apparatus Harry Reid has set up, there are a lot of reasons why Obama may still retain the advantage here.

8. I assume at some point they will release the overall poll result

including the horse race. If they have sub categories: economy, health care, etc, showing how each candidate is doing with voters in those categories, I assume they have an overall poll result.
