With the music and narration tone, that ad could frighten children.

PBS would prefer to have the appearance of neutrality, while obviously they would (or at least should) hope that Romney is not elected. If Obama asks permission, that effectively drags PBS into taking sides.

The bird is 'big.' So are the consequences if a tiny sliver (PBS) of the budget is cut and Willard announces, "Mission Accomplished!"

This issue has legs. The imagery is perfect. That's why the repubs are screaming about it.

Strangely, I think this ad is risky. Sarcasm can be a tricky thing and can backfire. Personally, I love it. I just hope the rest of America does, too.

if Romney is elected they will have to figure out how to survive without federal support.
This one thing Romney was pretty clear on.

This makes Obama look frivolous and disconnected to the real issues in the campaign. And it gives Romney an easy retort: high unemployment, increasing poverty, anemic job creation and the current administration is talking about Big Bird?

When is Obama going to get serious and start articulating the important policy differences between him and Romney? C'mon!
