Obama needs all the help we can give him to turn around the M$M story, let us get Big Bill hitting the trail and change the coverage off of Mitt.

I am not certain on details yet. When I find out more, I'll let you know if you are interested.

(3,226 posts)enough of this zone prevent defense, time to take off the gloves and go on the attack! (is this enough sports analogies to get the point across?)

(12,336 posts)He supposedly isn't coming to campaign for the President but for two candidates for the House who are in serious political fights and who need to win in order to get this state at least semi blue again. He'll be in Sioux City on Friday AM campaiging on behalf of Christie Vilsack and at a fund vraising dinner in Des Moines on Friday night for Leonard Boswell. Vilsack is in a tough uphill battle against one of the more vile teahadists out there, steve king. She really needs the support. And Boswell, while nowhere near as liberal as a lot of us would like, is still a better alternative than his opponenet, Tom Latham. I imagine President Obama will have people there to at least try and collect some $.

(4,551 posts)He was in New Hampshire last week for Obama.
He was in California last night with Obama at a fundraiser.
He's in Vegas today for Obama.
He will be in Arizona for Carmona tomorrow night.
But I certainly hope Bill has had the chance to give Obama some advice for the next debate on how to deal with Romney.

(1,663 posts)but President Obama kicked Bill and Hillary's butt. President Obama can and will win reelection on his own. If Bill Clinton wants to help that is fine but he is not some great white savior.

(3,226 posts)We can use all the help we can get the more Democrats we have pulling the better, Last time I checked Bill and Hillary are still on our side unless you know something different. My feeling is that Obama will be happy to have as much help as we can give him.

(3,226 posts)I was posting about having our last Democrat President on the campaign trail. I said noting about his race. The more coverage that Bill gets the bigger the issue will be where is Bush, that can only help. The more Votes we get the better right or do you have another agenda?
that President Obama does not "need" Bill Clinton. If Bill Clinton was all that then Hillary would have won. She didn't.
bamacrat
(3,867 posts)but Bill is some great white savior. Forget what he did as POTUS. But without him at the convention the numbers for Obama would be way down especially with the debate. Bill is more valuable than any prior POTUS in history. If he could run again he would win.

(3,867 posts)The great white hope can help the great black hope to achieve harmonious happiness and prosperity.
minus ending Jerry's no vomiting streak.

(1,663 posts)is president of the United States not the great black hope. He doesn't "need" Clinton. Get over the Clintons.
bamacrat
(3,867 posts)At this point in time it is dishonest to think otherwise. He doesn't need Clinton like a football team doesn't need a great running back. They can still win it all but a great ground game makes it a hell of a lot easier. Also, no I will not get over the Clintons. Bill was the greatest president of my and many DUers lifetimes. PBO has a chance if re-elected to eclipse that, and Hillary should run in 2016.
Get over the Clintons is like telling a puke to get over Raygun. The former was better but both redefined and re-established ailing parties.

(4,551 posts)Perhaps they were interconnected, but the bottom line is that Bill Clinton is the one with a 66% approval rating in Gallup this year.

(1,663 posts)but Hillary was riding on Clinton's coattails and got beat by President Obama. Mybe you also missed the fact that the person in the white house is a black man named President Obama. Deal with it.
ohheckyeah
(9,314 posts)Hillary wasn't riding on Bill's coat tails and nobody thinks of Bill as the "Great White Hope" besides you. Bill Clinton is a hugely popular president and it has nothing to do with his skin color.

(1,663 posts)I am backing up what i said with the truth. The Clintons were beaten by President Obama. Some of you democrats can't handle that just like some republicans.
ohheckyeah
(9,314 posts)I know that and can deal with it. She didn't ride Bill's coattails. You obviously don't know their history.
You didn't back up shit. You accused people of thinking Bill was the "Great White Hope." Nobody said that or thinks that. You obviously have a serious attitude problem.
"You democrats"?????? What are you?

(2,117 posts)Bill Clinton is the same man who a lot of people call the first black president, and now he's being labelled as a great white hope? We need Clinton on the campaign trail because people know him well, he can explain things, and his approval ratings are higher than pretty much any other living politician. Bill was the last great president this country had, and people remember that.

(5,810 posts)at the Democratic Convention. Lots of people heard what he had to say about the state of the economy, Medicare, how Obama has handled the job, etc. and liked what they heard. In fact, if I recall, some people were very impressed by how he explained things and wanted to hear more from him.
I see no harm in bringing him back out in a big way to remind folks again that Obama has done a pretty decent job, especially when you put it in terms of what he was handed in the first place. His comment that NO ONE could have done a better job ---- given the critical condition things were in when Obama took office-----was heard by many and probably caused some people to stop and THINK for a second that a lot of the criticism was coming from people hell bent on getting Obama out. You may remember the ones who met in Jan. 2009 whose sole mission in life was to make Obama a one term president? Yea, those guys.
So maybe Bill can help remind folks once again what he said at the convention. People have short memories and the opposition is doing everything it can to make people think that Down is Up and Black is White. If Clinton could make people understand the situation a little better then and bring people to the Obama camp, why not see if he can't bring those same folks out to the polls between now and Nov. 6th?
I don't think it could hurt and it just might help. Obama is not in a great spot right now and EVERYTHING that can be done to help should be done....ASAP. Time's a wastin'......
