With the deadline to register to vote in Florida coming tomorrow, the Obama campaign today touted its advantage over Republicans so far and said it is prepared to tap into a ground force to win the state.
"Over the last three months, Democratic registration in Florida has exceeded Republican registration by 32 percent," said Brent Colburn, national campaign communications director, in a conference call with reporters.
Last Thursday alone, he said, the Obama organization registered 10,415 voters.
In a separate email, Florida Democrats said they registered 18,063 more voters than Republicans in September, a 16 percent advantage that is even higher with Hispanics. "Overall, Democrats are beating Republicans in women registration by roughly 10-points," executive director Scott Arceneaux wrote. "Florida Democrats have built the strongest, largest ground game this state has ever seen we are entering the final month in a strong position to win Democratic victories up and down the ticket."

(1,663 posts)The key is voter registration and people actually voting. Nothing else matters. I don't want to hear a single poor person whining about poverty and cuts by Romney if they didn't get out and vote.

(33,497 posts)and this is why likely voter screens can be screwed. If you didn't vote in 2010 you aren't considered a likely voter even though you will vote in a presidential election.
