It is time for Dems to stop using the republican word entitlements, and defend Social Security and

Medicare like they are the protectors, the defenders of those 2 programs that were created by this party. They are earned benefits. We payed for them. They were not given.

...as opposed to 'Defense Spending.' Everytime I hear a Democrat use the term, my teeth grate.

When will we ignore the importance that the GOP places in Madison Avenue slogans? If Conservatives don't lie, they camoflage the truth.

Now would be a good time to get all the senate and house candidates to go on record with their plans for those two programs. It is all about congress. Dems need to win both houses and elect those willing to preserve, strengthen and protect Medicare and social security.

do a search of DU for: entitlements+legal term

This conversation has been had on many occasions here on DU and just by looking back on some of those threads can be enlightening.

I came away thinking that as much as I despise the term entitlements used, it may actually be a legal thingy.
