Has Sesame Street flipped Obama the bird?

Are they shooting off their own beak?

They're demanding the Big Bird ad be taken down and Republicans on Facebook are going wild with the news. Why is PBS doing this with their own future at stake?

As such, their images being used for political gain is probably verboten.

"Sesame Workshop is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and we do not endorse candidates or participate in political campaigns. We have approved no campaign ads, and as is our general practice, have requested that the ad be taken down," Sesame Workshop said in a statement.

Also, by the way... Sesame Workshop and PBS are not the same. PBS is the broadcaster, while Seasame Workshop is operated on its own.

I agree the ad was pretty lame. There are big issues to talk about and people expect a candidate to be serious at this point in the race. It may have been funny for the political wonks and junkies, but it likely doesn't move the needle with independents.

And it makes one big FAT impression.

All of it is easily remembered by our simpleton Americans.

You talk the fine points of budget, world affairs, SS, Medicare...and the eyes of the lemmings will glaze over
and they will go back to their Itunes or vid games.

America has gotten stupid...and using "Big Bird" and budget cut talks to make an example of how lame
Mittens is (and how he will fuck over the 99%), well I say more power to the President's campaign.

Letting it go viral on the net. I think that this is getting under Mitts skin he desided not to do the interview on Nick.

Millions unemployed, high gas prices, another $1.1 trillion deficit, Turkey and Syria shooting at each other, Libya....

....and Team Obama wants to talk about Big Bird? Morons.

By insulting the intelligence of undecided voters they are pushing them into the Romney camp. This is the advertising equivalent of Obama's debate performance.

Mitt considers cutting funding for PBS to be a smarter move than making cuts that matter. The "big bird" strategy is meant to point out how ridiculous that is.

This ad will likely not even get shown on television (outside of the pundit shows) and will be forgotten by the end of the week, all people will remember is Mitt Romney as the dick that wants to kill Big Bird in order to balance our budget.

And if some voters are still undecided at this point when it comes to Obama and Romney, then I'm sorry, they deserve to have their God damned "intelligence" insulted.
