A revolution requires....you know.....people?

If turnout is down this shows that his movement is nowhere near a political revolution.

Are foolish. Obama expanded the electorate. Sanders has not.

BTW, this number is not good long term for Clinton either.

Neither Sanders nor Clinton attracted new voters or excited the electorate. This could be a big problem for Hillary in the fall.

Harry Reid was smart to lobby for it to be an early state, but primaries increase turnout, which is good for November.

Tuesday should tell us how strong Nevada is as a battleground state in November.

Caucuses are not democratic at all. It's a terrible way to elect a Presidential nominee.

Feb 2016

Democratic Turnout:

2008-120,000

2016-80,000

For Sanders to win there needed to be a large influx of new and independent voters. His campaign did not succeed with this. And this was a big factor as to why Hillary won.

in part because the voters see two acceptable candidates, without a history-making favorite and don't see a bad guy to come out against. ... Hmm?

It's encouraging, actually, that neither Hillary the broad nor Bernie the Jewish DemSoc seemed overly concerning either way. We are the Democratic Party, after all.

We need to remember to check this against the GOP primary turnout. That should tell us something.

By implying that Hillary is only "cozying" up to Obama for the Black Vote....

as if Pres. Obama cannot be supported based on his body of work as President,
and that this should be why Democrats of any kind should want to "cozy" up to the leader of the
Democratic party.

One can be cozy with Obama for his accomplishments.

One can also be cozy with Obama to win black votes.

The two are not mutually exclusive. It is a matter of difference of perspective on Clinton's motivations.

with electoral college landslides both times. He is 1 of just 4 presidents in US history to win back to back elections with 51% of the vote or more.

Sanders can't shine Obama's shoes. And the faux shine on Sanders really got scruffier up tonight.

So one wonders why so many reports of long lines, over-crowded caucus venues, insufficient registration forms, and long delays causing some to leave without participating.

Just coincidence and typically poor organization I suppose.

There are also allegations of dirty tricks and deception. Reddit user SamBoeres posted a photo of a sign-in sheet at his caucus, precinct 5616, that had a Hillary For Nevada logo. The person passing out the sign-in sheet said it was “for the democratic party,” despite the obvious campaign logo:

But...as Thom Hartman pointed out---there are more candidates. They have more GOTV organizations. At least the Dems better hope that's the case. If there is just no support this year we can kiss the White House, Senate and Supreme Court go.
