2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIn all likelyhood, Hillary will be the Democratic Nominee
I will hold my nose and vote for her over ANY Republican, mostly to protect the Supreme Court. However, It is hard for me to get over the campaigns she has run in both 2008 & 2016. With the first serious African American candidate in 2008, she mentioned Robert Kennedy (one of my heroes and whose tragic death is something that the Democratic Party has never fully recovered from) as a reason to stay in the race and in 2016 she has her surrogates use Nixonian tactics against her opponent. Think about it folks! Tell me that Hillary doesn't think she's entitled to the presidency.

(11,546 posts)you are not wrong. And so do most of the Democratic party leaders. This whole process - it's the most UN democratic thing that I've seen.

(643 posts)Heck, I just donated another $27 to Sanders tonight after I heard Hillary talk. I can't reconcile her terrible record, flip flops, and general lack of trustworthiness into a vote for her. Obviously I won't vote for a gop candidate, so I may have to look for an independent. But Hillary has to earn my vote. And she has not.

(58,785 posts)campaigns worse than those of other candidates? Seriously, not to push you into depression, or make you move to the top of a lonely mountain somewhere, but pick the most admirable politician you know and read about his campaigns. It's going to be enlightening.
