In the end, the debate may turn out to be just what the Dems needed to feel a sense of urgency. Let's be honest: the Mitt Romney Summer Comedy Tour had made us all lazy and overconfident.

I was thinking the exact same thing as well. The debates may have been the kick in the pants progressives needed to know not to be complacent in this election.
