The attack was on what she did, not on her overall character and achievements. Really, caucuses need to go. so many potential problems.

Now they just said "no no no". Seems to be a theme with a lot of these attacks on Bernie people. The lie always gets more press than the retraction.

This woman is a treasure.

She's wonderful, but she's human. Humans make mistakes. And when they do, it's okay to call them on it. It doesn't mean the people holding them to accountability dismiss their entire life work and legacy. Honestly, this is what is most disturbing about Clinton supporters. The need to walk in lockstep, to never admit mistakes. the most mean-spirited things I've ever read on DU are coming out the mouths of Clinton supporters this primary season. Y'all have no grace or humility.

No one on this site has more respect and admiration for Ms Huerta's years of activism than I do. But it is simply a fact that her statement about Sanders' record on immigration was patently and obviously unfair to Sanders. And she should delete her tweet about "English only" now that it has been shown to be mistaken.

If I treated her like some sort of saint that cannot be criticized I would be showing her less respect.

So, they chose her.

And I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt that she misunderstood what she heard yesterday. I do think she should clear up the record though. I also think she should have investigated more before posting that tweet. It is pretty absurd to think that people who are liberal enough to support Bernie Sanders would be the "English only" types in the way she implied. That alone should have made her pause before tweeting. But like I said, I give her the benefit of the doubt and don't believe she deliberately lied.

The Washington Post published more detail yesterday. She's not backtracking, and she sure-as-fuck sounds like she knows exactly what she heard.

She's an honorable woman who has worked her entire life for civil and worker's rights. She was trying to make sure those who spoke Spanish knew what the fuck was going on.

If you find yourself questioning her integrity or accomplishments look them up.

She's a smart, honorable woman whose opinion I and all of us should respect.

If you start questioning where she "went wrong", wondering how she could ever support HRC, maybe instead you should question your own beliefs. Maybe you should examine what right wing bullshit you're buying into.
