Perhaps Its Best to Wait a Week

I know, there are so many threads out there about why we should be pessimistic and why we shouldn't, but I have an idea, why don't we wait a week?

Here is the thing, before the debates we had many people post news articles about how Romney was likely to get a bounce post debate, as happens to all challengers during a second term election. That happened. But the experts also said it would be short lived. It may feel like an eternity ago that the debates happened but it was only 6 days ago. And most polling (what little we have got) is only from the last 4 or 5 days, at most. Really isn't enough time to see that bounce wear off, as has been predicted. So instead of freaking out over every poll that shows Romney up by 1 point, why don't we just wait a few days and let this bounce play out?

But there is another issue, we have another debate in 2 days. Another major event in this election is 48 hours from now. An event that could be almost as important as last week's debate. It could push Romney further into the lead, it could end up giving the GOP a collective heart attack. So really, anything happening today won't matter very much friday morning, so why don't we just wait a few days and see how that plays out?

But in 7 days, we have another presidential debate. Yet another major election event. A debate that is likely to be very closely watched, one that could very well push the first debate, which will be 2 weeks prior by that point, completely out of the national consciousness. So why don't we just wait a few days and see how that plays out?

God we have 2 extremely important electoral events in the 7 days and a poll bounce that is likely to recede over the next week. Why don't we just wait and see how it all plays out? Whatever we are seeing in the polls today is probably going to be completely irrelevant in 7 days. Now I am not saying I know what will happen or that Obama will be back on top or that we will be on the verge of electing a complete sociopath and his simpleton friend to the white house. All i am saying is, there is no point in trying to figure any of it out right now because we are on the eve of several important events that will likely shape the race and determine the outcome of this election.

So why don't we just walk away from all of the hand wringing, calls for optimism, and poll watching, and just see how the next week plays out? In reality, that is all we can do. The question is, do you want to sit back and accept it or do you want to fight that notion every step of the way, for no reason other than to put yourself through the mental anguish?

but that isn't the point. I am talking about worrying constantly about every poll that comes out over the next few days. I'm just trying to point out there things are likely to change a lot over the next few days and worrying about what is happening at this second might be needless mental anguish.

Now if you want to spend your free time looking at polls or analyzing the debate, I don't care, its your life, do what you want with it. All I am saying is we could very well find out that everything we are talking about right now might not end up mattering, at all, in the long run.

3. Sorry

But if Mr. Moneybags wins I will not be able to afford to continue college. This election decides my future
