Why do the people called "super" delegates get 2 votes... one normal legal legitimate vote like all

of us.. and a 2nd vote which is equal to 10s of thousands or more of our votes(often more)... Is this legal ? 1 person 1 vote..

You should ask Bernie's senior strategist. He helped create them. eom BlueCaliDem Feb 2016 #1

Political parties get to determine their own rules for nominating candidates.

This isn't the general election.

This is the Democratic Party and Democrats decide who they want to run in the general election.

It's the Electoral College all over again - if the riff raff select the 'wrong' person, rich folks need a way to overturn their choice. We actually thought we'd somehow sneaked one past them in 2008, but it turned out they knew what sort of President Obama would be better than we did, and yet again, they reaped 93% of the benefits from his work. We're praying we're right about Bernie not being yet another corporate-owned pol, but if he gets in and turns around and appoints a bunch of Goldman Sachs people to his economic team, we'll know we got played again.

They are not the government. They really aren't into revolution. That's why institutional change is hard. As Bernie said, he needs a major GOTV. Most super delegates have been active Party members for a long time and they feel this is their reward. Some will follow their conscience, most will be political in their final decision. This is a reason Bernie is not fond of the two party system.

If the super delegate count was reversed, it would be the greatest thing since sliced bread, and his senior strategist would be a genius for his part in creating the system.
