About the Democratic primary season.

Blah, blah, de-blah de-blah blah.

Am I the only DUer who is getting sick and fucking tired of all the rubbish bullshit from both sides -- now that we have only two candidates left?

My question is, who does this serve? What gain does one desire? A Democratic candidate in the Oval Office? Or maybe to bring the entire edifice down in the name of political purity?

How many here would wish for Donald Trump, or (horrors) the theocratic TED Cruz, to occupy that office?

I support and will vote for Bernie Sanders in the MI primary. But Hell if I will not vote straight Democratic Party in November, even if Hillary Clinton achieves the nomination. The alternative is far too horrible to consider.

And good luck advocating any contrary opinion here on DU after the nomination is decided. And good fucking riddens to you if you do.

I am sick and tired of the infantile infighting here. I am a lifelong Democrat and I will die one. If you cannot support this party over the only alternative, you do not belong here.

Sorry for the polemic. And go Bernie. But I will gladly support Hillary in November if she gets the nomination. The alternative is too horrible to consider. The extent that people do not comprehend this undeniable fact, is the extent to which we are all screwed.

Thank you for the forum.

My best to you all.

I would be for Bernie, but would gladly support Hillary if she prevails.

Bernie serves no $$$$$$ master. But the GOP serves their GOD, often taken literally. That is something I absolutely cannot stomach.

The GOP is nearly wholly theocratic. Consider Ted Cruz and the utter lunatics who support that party. It started with Jerry Falwell (Moral Majority) and Pat Robertson (Christian Coalition) in the late 70's and 80's. Some of us watched it happen before our very eyes, back in those days.

The lesson we learn is that we let these people get in power at our collective peril. And they already have far too much power already.

So by all means, let us all fight about who is more progressive. And let us draw lines in the sand on that issue when the lines in the sand were clearly drew decades before Bernie and Hillary came on the national scene.

That is how we lose.

Will be voting Green. If the GOP wins, then they deserve the win. It is a democracy after all.

I take it that you will not be posting here once the nominee is decided if it does not go your way.

Some of us will remain, dedicated to the only party which has any chance to prevail over the utter madness.

But good luck with the Greens. Maybe you can found Greens Underground.

This is Democratic Underground.

I expect that this OP will die since most everybody here seem to be intent on stabbing each other over the choice of a nominee when the enemy is clearly not one running for our party's nomination, but the clown car aligned against us.

The rubes! They do not understand who is the real enemy. Like children, they ignore the reality of the situation.

Again, sorry for the diatribe. And thank you for your support.

Today it came out in a conversation, and people were having Real Life Experiences with fanatics from one particular campaign, it is not the Sanders campaign by the way, and one said, I will stay home in nov if HRC is the candidate.

Mind you in my state it does not matter. For all I care the Dems could nominate the devil himself, with the anti christ to serve as VEEP, and the state will still go blue. It is just the way it is... so for all I care I could vote for the Mouse in OC and get it over with.

But that sentiment is there and from where i sit. I quite frankly blame HRC supporters for it. It is my experience wtih those posters. and like partisanship in DC, this one at least where i sit, breaks 80-20 in favor of HRC supporters. (In congress it breaks 90-10 in favor of republicans)

I am an indy... who I vote is my business. But I have heard this anecdotally. Now being a survey of one... take that with a Mt Olympus sized grain of salt. But you know who I will blame for the loss? Not the voters. Not the indies. niot the progressives, the politics of personal destruction. Yes, I am looking at the same fracking people who have done quite horrid things to posters here in the name of party purity.

They are now in a cozy list of people I have zero respect for... and that list will not be cleared anytime soon. In fact, I expect to add to it.

But one has to admit that the infighting here, especially the crazy Rovian arguments from both sides, only helps the GOP, which helps nobody whatsoever.

We either get an incompetent egomaniac (Trump), a theocrat who sees the USA as a Christian country and the end of the world imminent (Cruz), or a thirsty one term senator who does not even bother to vote (Rubio).

Given the alternatives, I choose the Democrat every single time.

Always appreciate your input, my friend.

and I am not only one saying it anymore. I went there in August.

And the other day I went further and said I expect him to win the presidency. It is due to the politics of personal destruction, yes, it is that simple.

On the bright side that will unite DU... but those people will remain in my list and I will never consider them allies.

in the nation about the two parties. This is NOT
a usual election. I don't know when it started to
happen, but by now over 40% of voters are
independents. Recognize the reason for it,please.

A D or R behind a name does not mean anything
to voters anymore (else you would not see the
success of Trump).

Thus blaming voters, who may change their allegiance
in the way you do, shows no respect or understanding
of the present mood in the country.

as the only selling point. We get status quo conservative corporate Democrats crammed down our throats every damn election and then -- and in-between -- see no effort to actually developed a positive liberal agenda. OIr even talk about it.

On the contrary, they get worse and worse.

Clinton is now selling "No We Can't" as her major campaign slogan. That's how far the Democratic Party has fallen. And many of us are sick of taking it lying down.

But my best to you. Appreciate the effort to inject some comity here.
