Name it. What will Hillary fight to change?
What has she done in the past that indicates she will continue and expand the fight on the issues we face?

(56,582 posts)The question rests on a false assumption, that Presidents "fight" to begin with.

(2,603 posts)We have accomplished many great things with Presidents fighting for them. We got SS, welfare, PPACA, and fighting really damn hard for TPP, to name a few things. The list really is endless. The POTUS does make a difference.
So, name something Hillary is going to fight for, something she will make a goal of her administration. She's so well known all over the entire globe and been in the national spotlight for decades. there must be something that she is going to focus on that we desperately need.

(56,582 posts)We got SS and AFDC during FDR's administration, for instance; what concrete actions did he take that you consider "fighting"?

(27,247 posts)And he did FIGHT for those things. He fought against his own party, just like FDR fought against elements in his own party (like Senator Carter Glass) who thought he was a Communist or Socialist.

(27,247 posts)It also means doing what needs to be done behind the scenes to get the legislation passed. For example,

And FDR had a lot of opposition to overcome with his New Deal. If he hadn't fought for it, no progress would have been made.

(56,582 posts)OK. I really do think you should think about this a little more.

(2,603 posts)you can't list 3 policies that Clinton truly believes in and will push or fight for. Instead you have chosen to ask for the definition of "fight."
That is a theme with the Clinton's. It all depends on what we think the definition of "is" is.

(37,428 posts)Directly (or nearly so) electing one of the three branches of government is how we fight the inertia of the other two.
Change is badly needed, and I hope we will all lobby the hell out of the next president until s/he fights for us.

(2,603 posts)Got it.
Anything else? Maybe something she wants to be a legacy and you believe she will expend every effort trying to achieve?

Something she has stood for and believes we need.
Anything?

(2,603 posts)You can't name one thing Hillary stands for and will try to change. All you have is she's not a Republican and she won't do stuff.
Well OK, let's do it.
What WON'T Hillary do?
BeyondGeography
(39,374 posts)I'm setting the bar low, because that's what we'd get with the alternative.
Then there are little things like not forcing food stamp recipients to take drug tests. You ok with that? The Republicans seem very attached to the concept.
You can go to Hillary's website and see all the things she would try to do to make peoples lives better. Whether she can get them done without Republican support is another question. But she won't be a racist, vindictive fuck, which is the alternative. Sorry if that doesn't do it for you. It's more than enough for me.
