(15,951 posts)Many Bernie supporters don't seem to understand that the Republicans want him as the Democratic nominee.

(99,710 posts)If you want to start a new thread to discuss what you deem important you are more than welcome.
Now, of course you can discuss it in this thread, but I don't see the efficacy in doing so.
Oh, Republicans suck and they shouldn't be meddling in our contests, am I right?

(47,803 posts)They want to weaken any Democratic candidate. They think Clinton will wion, but if Sanders shows real strength they'll aim at him too....Some already are.

(12,471 posts)I don't think so.
Funny, many RepubliCONs and CONservatives that I speak to would rather vote for Bernie than Clinton or ANY RepubliCON candidate.

(3,623 posts)...drag out the primary as long as possible. Both candidates are flawed and I think the GOP attack machine is licking its chops in either case. But they would love to drag out the primary.

(3,937 posts)They don't want Clinton connecting with voters now.
(Rule #1 btw is "Define your opposition before they have a chance to define themselves" but it is too late for that in terms of HRC.)

(5,390 posts)Polls say Clinton will win SC so that would be who they would campaign against. Their supporters are not voting Sanders or Clinton. So stop with the insults. You know after the primaries we will have to come together to fight them not each other.

(99,710 posts)Why would they want to run against the Clintons?
They are 2-11 against them, in big races and contests , nonetheless...

(84,711 posts)Bernie has better things to spend money on than Hillary attack ads in a state where the Dem Party and voters are solidly behind her. Bernie is about his message and not a wasteful person with the people's money.

(24,411 posts)It's clear that Republicans believe that Hillary will be the nominee.
What better time to attack her...when she's right in the state? The Republicans are starting early this year, I guess.
You think the Hillary supporters on DU are ardent.
I canvassed for months on Iowa--and they had me talking to Republicans and Independents. Most of the Indies in my area lean Republican.
I spent so much time in living rooms of Independents and Republicans. I could write a book. They would invite me in, just to tell me that Hillary is the devil. They would drone on and on and on and on. Their rationale for hating her is so different from the reasons why the base of the Democratic party rejects her. We don't like her policies. The Republicans and Independents don't like her policies AND they hate her personally and believe every scandal put out there. They truly hate her like no other politician that has ever existed.
I was tasked with getting some of these Republicans to caucus for Bernie. Some of them, who didn't like their slate of candidates, did caucus for Bernie. However, I never followed up with these frothing-at-the-mouth Hillary haters. I could not, in good conscience, do it. I stopped going to Indie houses in my area, and Republican houses too. I was spending too much time, standing there listening to how much they hated Hillary, and not enough time trying to get Democrats to our caucuses.
I am not surprised by these ads. As a PR practitioner, I understanding the timing. They're attempting to damage the messaging and strategy that HRC is trying to lay down in the state. They think she's going to be the nominee and they're trying to crush that, so she doesn't gain any traction before the GE.

(52,589 posts)as well as independents who have reservations.
CoffeeCat
(24,411 posts)Independents are people who are sick of or disillusioned by standard, establishment politics.
Hillary Clinton is the poster child for establishment politics.
That is why they reject her. You can't win a GE without Independents.
I don't know what in the hell the DNC and DWS are thinking. HRC has no path to victory in a GE.
