2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumOur Very Own Mitt Romney Candidate.
In choosing our candidate for president, we have to deal to what extent we value electability; and if this is a trait we seek in a candidate, we must try to assess the factors that can undermine electability.
One of these factors is dishonesty. I think it is fair to say that the gentleman below
had a lot going for him in 2012 (near 9% unemployment rate) but still wound up losing at least in part because many voters believed they could not trust him. That he lies and flip-flops too much.
But he was from the other side, what about our own candidates? I encourage you all to view the video below:
Now as we go forward, knowing that should Hillary be our candidate, the Republicans will seek to destroy her credibility -- would the Republicans find themselves with plenty of ammo?
Moreover, and possibly even more importantly, we understand that the President has the potential to be a fine role model for the children of our country. Ask yourself: is Hillary too deceitful to ever be a splendid role model?

ALERTER'S COMMENTS
This is not constructive criticism. This is just more bashing equating Hillary to a Republican. It's a nasty and dishonest comparison basically posted to depress support for one of our candidates.

(1,825 posts)my original post is "a nasty and dishonest comparison basically posted to depress support for one of our candidates."
If I endeavor to "depress support" for one of our candidates, it is only to thereby increase support for another candidate, who is far more honest and electable in November.

(1,825 posts)Yes, exactly, she never owns up to it!!! If she were to just say, "What I said was untrue, and I shouldn't have said it. I deeply apologize," then I could see some underlying morality within her, and the whole thing would not be as troubling, and we could move on (provided these deceptions do not happen too often again). But she will instead say something like "I was sleep-deprived and misspoke." MISSPOKE MY ASS! YOU LIED, DAMMIT!
