http://www.huffingtonpost.com/h-a-goodman/bernie-sanders-will-becom_b_9289066.htmlBernie Sanders has positive favorability ratings. He's the only leading candidate in 2016 with positive favorability ratings. If you care about losing to a Republican this year, then you should care about this fact.
Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump do not have positive favorability ratings.
59% of Americans distrust Donald Trump.
67% of Americans find Hillary Clinton "not honest and trustworthy."
Yes, more Americans trust Donald Trump than Hillary Clinton. I explain in my latest YouTube segment that because 67% of American distrust Hillary Clinton, only Bernie Sanders can prevent a xenophobic billionaire from making decisions in the Oval Office. I also highlight why negative favorability ratings, in addition to an ongoing FBI investigation, pave the way for a Trump presidency if Clinton is the nominee.
Not many people know that 67% of Americans find Hillary Clinton "not honest and trustworthy." Not many Democrats know that 30% of Democratic voters distrust Hillary Clinton, in addition to a startling 74% of Independent voters in America. Since 43% of Americans are politically independent, Trump has the edge over Clinton, especially since Trump donated money to Clinton's Senate campaigns and foundation.

(5,400 posts)I don't see any precedent for Secretary Clinton to improve on those numbers. Though if the three government investigations separately involving her, her staff, and her husband, when concluded are received as having been a witch hunt, she could easily get a bounce from that. Though the converse would apply if the reports are taken by the public to be troubling, or worse.
The question of releasing the transcripts, and the public's desire to see that happen, along with their awareness of it as an issue, is a wild card, imo.
The minute she looks to be a strong favorite again might be when the press decides it would be fun to really dig into her issues, and the question of her electability.
And Senator Sanders, as once again a real long shot of an underdog, presents a refreshed narrative for the press to dash off pieces about.
Click bait, and not spending money on research, the joint marvels of modern journalism. The story is the story because they agreed it is, and it's easy to write about.
