Hillary Supports a Public Option

A new version of Clinton’s campaign website suggests she won't try to push the public option through Congress, but instead will work with governors using existing flexibility under Obamacare "to empower states to establish a public option choice." That may be a reference to a waiver program taking effect in 2017 that lets states assert greater control over their health care systems.

Then again, if we have a choice twixt her and a whack job Repug, I guess we need to pick her.

But, you are right, she has no intention of being generous to the 99%.

Quite disheartening that we have a choice between republican lite and our best choice (BErnie) who the DNC and the MSM is suppressing as much as possible.

“Sen. Sanders' plan really rests on making sure that governors, like Scott Walker, contribute $23 billion on the first day to make college free,” she continued. “I’m a little skeptical about your governor actually caring about enough higher education to make any kind of commitment like that.”

Not to mention the disaster medicaid expansion has been for people in some states. MO did not expand Medicaid and a family of 3 has to be at 18% FPL (less than $5,000yr) to qualify for regular Medicaid. As they're eeking out a living, unable to afford health insurance, paying the pentalty instead, they're supposed to trust her on this??

Even though his plan doesn't do this.

5. Once elected, I believe she will push a public option. It's the only way forward unless

one thinks any foreseeable Congress is going to force Medicare for all on more than 40% of the populace. If public option works as we think, most people will gravitate toward it without having to cram it down their ignorant throats.

Whether it's their governors in each state or the Congress, I don't think a public option will get any traction until the Democrats have control of Congress.

What a stupid idea. In other words one is required to move to a non-Republican state to have a chance of possibly getting a public option.

this is such a stupid idea and I don't consider HRC stupid in the least.

every option that's going to be invented will be a variant on that theme.
