2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe Bernie Sanders movement is not a white male movement.
The spurious lie that it is condemns the Democratic Party. eom

That makes zero sense.

I am told because I am not white I too was supposed to be going for the moderate Republican, or as the kids say "third Way"
I guess we live to surprise, or maybe being multiracial, my Korean, Black, and Latino parts were wrestled to the ground by my outnumbered white part in a display of internal white supremacy LOL.
Dragonfli, I'm glad the whole of you is here in your multiracial, sharp, liberal, leftie glorious self.

It's been obvious from day one this is how you like it and want to keep it. Why waste so much time flogging the issue?
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)whatchamacallit
(15,558 posts)Do you deny it? Your posting history shows a clear pattern. You feign concern, but offer no solutions. Most of your posts are obsessive affirmations of Sanders' inability (unworthiness) to capture the AA vote. It's your thing.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)have offered as a solution ... because there is nothing in it for you in disconnecting racial/social justice from economic justice.
So, Yes ... I deny it ... check my post history. I have never (rarely) posted "affirmations of Sanders' inability (unworthiness) to capture the AA vote", without stating WHY he stumbles among the Black electorate.
To be sure ... not wanting to hear/accept an answer is not the same thing as having no answer provided.
whatchamacallit
(15,558 posts)"deleterious coupling of social and economic justice"? The campaign meme ready to roll the day Sanders announced? I forget, remind me again what your solutions were. I know Bernie has stated repeatedly that fighting racism can not be accomplished only on the economic front. I know he has proposed addressing the systemic issues in the justice system, including the Clinton's industrial prison matrix. I know he has repeatedly reached out to the community... yet... Please remind me of your specific suggested fix. I'm all ears.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)But I have no doubt you will want to claim otherwise ... which will, AGAIN, prove my point, that answers have been given; but, you just don't want to hear them.

(15,558 posts)just a lot of complaining, shifting rationales, and moving goal posts. Mostly vague stuff like "he's just not connecting" and "he better figure it out"... without explaining why or how. Lots of "whatever it is it must be true because polls". Little actually offered other than simplistic and lazy blanket statements like "Bernie's too much about economics". You have an easy opportunity right now to not only shut me up, but garner an apology. Post a link that proves you are more about substance than noise.

(14,341 posts)I'm posting the jury results from your alerted post:
AUTOMATED MESSAGE: Results of your Jury Service
On Tue Feb 23, 2016, 09:05 AM an alert was sent on the following post:
It just looks like it because of all the white males in it ...
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=1317343
REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
lie.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Tue Feb 23, 2016, 09:13 AM, and the Jury voted 0-7 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Unbelievable. This has got to STOP.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: It IS incorrect, and an honest assessment would be: "lack of a strong Black presence". Argue that point and if he is an intellectually honenst SBM, then he'll surely fix it. In any case, it's not rude etc. but it is disappointing as he was a lawyer.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Alerting a post because someone disagrees with an opinion is NOT grounds for a hide.
Leave It Alone
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I really dislike the race card campaign that Clinton's surrogates and supporters have engaged in for months, but I support freedom of speech. I vote to leave this alone as a result.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Thin skin
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Alert stalking 1SBM, pure and simple. The alerter should be ashamed.
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.
At least this person was shut down for 24 hours.

(10,622 posts)To be sure, but reading the whole thing would ruin a perfectly good misrepresentation/lie about my post, such honorable tactics you guys use, tell me, are they David Brock copywrited tactics or can any hack sling obvious crap like that?

Dragonfli
(10,622 posts)The Campaign sets the tone and the tactics used and both are mirrored by the supporters and financial donor/honorary campaign members. You may not believe this but really, it was not personal, I was talking about David Brock's tactics that of course you will use just like any other support material the campaign provides it's supporters as supporters will.
I get it and I don't take it personal that it was used against me, but the guy is slime IMO and a merchant of slime AIMO, but unless you personally hired him we got no beef.

The largest racial group of his supporters, just like Clinton's, are majority white, as is the largest racial group in our country at this point.
Sanders does seem to consistently capture the white male vote, and specifically the young white male vote. This phenomenon is largely due to AGE--his overwhelming support by the youth vote, just like Obama's was in the 2008 GE:

Democratic turnout in all 3 states so far has decreased from the last primary season, so Sanders seems to be increasing turnout of that demographic, while lack of enthusiasm with Clinton seems to be depressing overall turnout.
