Denver’s black clergy to rally support for Bernie Sanders

"With the March 1 Colorado caucuses nearing next week, black pastors in Denver who back Bernie Sanders are hoping to introduce the candidate to a voting bloc that might not be too familiar with him.

“We are absolutely trying to recruit African-Americans to support Bernie,” says Bishop Jerry Demmer of the Absolute Word Church in Denver."

6. I also want very much for him to bring up what Hillary has said about his criticism regarding

Obama. I want him to refer to her exact words and ask them what that means to them.
I want him to get a sense of how they feel about her saying those things and listen
to their response. Only then can he be prepared to respond and explain his reasons.

I don't appreciate what Clinton has done in this regard but it is up to him to clear
it up.

opportunity. I want it filmed if possible, and I want him to ask them directly
what her comments mean to them. What do they feel/ think about what he
has opposed Obama on..all of it including his statements on the primary
challenge back in 2012. If he loses these votes it won't then be because he did not
listen to what they think. Only after asking them will he know what their
impressions are, only then can he make a clear case for himself in defense
of her cynical pandering.

Many Democrats have been publically critical of Obama, not only about TPP, but
early on. Bernie should NOT allow Clinton to use his disagreements with Obama
against him as she does.

Hillary the dog whistler. Hillary: Black kids are superpredators. Hillary: welfare moms are deadbeats. Hillary: bring them to heel.

Hill supporters are an illustration of Cognitive Dissonance writ large.

She is.... something alright and she sure as fuck doesn't listen.

5. The title implies that an actual group exists

Yet the article mentions only this Pastor and his brother.

Is there a group of African American Pastors in Colorado supporting Bernie?

Google the two churches in the article and look at the ministries attached.

One is pretty flimsy as far as church websites go, the other one is a standard church website.

At any rate, neither website addresses the questions I asked.

Bernie's policies will serve us all well and will do much to remove the economic incentives for racism.

17. How many is "a group of"? Is this an organization? Are Denver's black-clergy a monolithic group?

A group of black pastors are working with representatives from the Sanders campaign to schedule a luncheon...

It's unclear to me if this is an actual black-clergy organization in Denver (and if so, what is the organization's name) ... or if it's just a couple of siblings (brothers, Jerry Demmer & Patrick Demmer) who are politically active.

Maybe I overlooked it because the "Raw Story" website frequently publishes (steals) only part of the content from the original source, and neglects to re-copy a story that's been updated or corrected, so it could have been something that was left out.

Unless there are ONLY two black clergy in Denver, the article lacks details to support the headline's claims of "a group".

I wonder if this will have any effect on their tax-exempt status.

Note to Jury: This is a criticism of the fact that in my opinion the story was poorly written (or poorly headlined) and leaves many questions unanswered. Nobody in this post is ridiculing or slamming or insulting or criticizing any candidate or candidate's supporters.

18. It didn't say a group of churches it said a group of pastors.

And even if it's only the two churches. There's more than 7 pastors between the two.

I do agree that raw does leave a little to be desired in regards to content.
