One enthusiatic series of lies by a tin foil hat salesman, and they all fall in behind him. This is sad to watch.

Well, this year they seem to. Like it or not.

So we better get on board and start winning them.

It gets worse each presidential cycle -- the hype, the expectations, the analysis, the so-called importance.

And they really are kind of stupid ... so contrived.

Do you really want a president who doesn't have resources and information available to her or him when making decisions and answering questions? But the 'debates' make the candidates stand or sit there for 90 minutes without notes and we (and the press) expect them to have perfect answers.

And really ... a President loses a debate because he looks at his watch? Or loses because he 'sighs'? Yet a candidate can tell any number of lies and, well, he 'wins'???

I'm for either doing away with these events completely or reforming them so that they are reasonable discussions in a reasonable setting.

the candidates'' ability to spew one-liners and compete in a game show gives zero info on how they will actually govern.
and ever since the debates were taken from the league of women voters and put in the hands of the crooked presidential debate commission, no real questions ever get asked

Humans respond to stories. And contests. It's easy copy and conflict is something the brain seeks, stimulation and all. It's quite sad in this case that with social media and cable it's SO big because it's given the chance to such subpar and ridiculous candidates as R&R

I have become pitiful.
