Be optimistic! Phone bank! Canvass! If you don't have time, donate! Scrimp in all other areas, but donate ! Your livelihood, future, the future of our nation, and of other species depends on it!

Don't waste time on the debate. Scientists know there is nothing to gain from debating climate change deniers or creationists. You simply don't go there. There is no way to win a debate with anyone who is not fact-based. That problem is compounded when the opponent is a sociopath.
